want to know what the original multiplier of a 25oo mobile is since it suppose to have a 266 bus...but run at 2500 speeds..1.8ghz.. but to obtain that speed it would have to use a multiplier of 13.5..am i correct....trying to lower temps on system through different settings and would get better i feel if i start from the original multiplier it was set for... appreciate the help.

well... it's supposed to run 1.83 ghz...

and if it's an 11 mult then the fsb is 166 = 1833 which i thought it was...

so maybe instead it's 14 x 133 = 1862 which is close to what it should be...

ahh!!! i dunno.... i never run my stuff at stock so i'm never sure :)

all mobiles should run at 266 fsb.. they aren't the same as desktops... but anyways, newegg and excaliberpc states it should run at 1.83 ghz with 266 fsb, and that's not possible.. The 2400 MXP runs at 1.8 ghz and the 2600 MXP runs 2.0 ghz.. the 2500 should run at 1.9 ghz which is a 14.25 mult, which doesn't exist.. so who knows??

Actually, all mobiles run with a FSB of either 100MHz or 133MHz. The default multiplier for the mobile 2500+ is 14x -- not all desktop mobos recognize the processor correctly though. FWIW, if you're looking to go back to stock speeds, you'll probably see a better temps if you drop back to stock voltages (provided you have the 1.45V varient of course).

unless you are talking about old old mobiles, they all run at 133 fsb.. from the 2000xp+ to the 3000xp+, they are all on 266 fsb.

The current AMD pricelist (effective June 1st, 2004) lists a 1700+ low power chip. The only 1700+ low power mobile Barton I know of is a 100 FSB part (AXML1700GYS4B). I don't consider Bartons to be old.
