I have my great grandmothers suitcase she packed when she made her last trip to the hospital. She died in 1987 from cancer. My grandfather got the suitcase after she died, he left it to my mom when he died, and my mom gave it to me.

Inside the suitcase are a couple of nightgowns, hair brush, I think a pair of slippers, and maybe a mirror.

I do not know why the suitcase has been passed through the family for 26 years. It sits in the closet of a spare bedroom.

In AT terms? Probably my foot treadle grinding stone. Otherwise, my tartan scarf collection. I had it in my head to collect all the wool tartan patterns I could from the thrift shop, but it got to be too much. That's a ridiculous hobby :^D

years ago, I picked up a silver flask at a flea market in South Carolina, engraved "To The Whitest Man I Know."

I bought it because I thought it was funny, but I'm thinking about polishing it up and giving it to my Asian roommate as a graduation gift when he moves to Chicago to start his PhD program this summer.

My parents bought me a bacon basket for easter one year. It included the Mr. Bacon vs. Monsieur Tofu Figures:

They also bought me the Jesus action figure because they figured I could use more religion in my life:

We have one of these somewhere in a box:

I don't recall where we found it, I think it belonged to some relative that passed away or something. I want to get rid of the thing because I find it creepy but my wife wants to keep it as she finds it an interesting piece of history.

The flattened bullet that went through the head of my great-grandfather when he killed himself. My grandpa dug it from the wall a few years back.

I don't know if I'd classify it as odd, but maybe unique. I own a chronometer from one of the first US merchant ships sunk by a German U-Boat during WWII (prior to US entry into the war). My great-uncle served on the ship at the time it was sunk in mid-1941. He must have grabbed it before they jumped into their lifeboats. The thing still works too, after 72 years...

A bunch of stone pipes (which many people have) and about 30 pounds of pipestone, which almost no white people have.

You want story?
