What is the next ti200/ti4200/9500pro?

It's time to upgrade my system. I read that the 6600GT oc's well and that people were unlocking the pipelines on other cards. Since the 6800GT and the X800pro are the best you can buy, what lower end/less expensive card will give the best chance of matching their big brothers performance.

My last 2 nvidia cards oc'd well, but my 9700np from dell was a dog. I will need something to power that Dell 20" widescreen or the HP 23" widescreen (depending on my bonus this year 😛 ). I think my current system will work initially, but I doubt I can game with it.

It may be hard to push many frames at the native resolutions those screens run at. If you are buying LCD's at those prices, why not get a good 6800gt to push them.

6800, if you get lucky and can unlock the disabled quad. Otherwise, it's "just" a pretty good deal for a new, midrange card.

It can probably game at 16x12 pretty well, but don't expect to enable AA in newer games, as nothing in the midrange ($150-250) price range has enough bandwidth. You want 16x12 gaming with the extras, tho, spend some of that bonus on a X800XT or a 6800U.
