What is the 'new' 5450/6450 now?

For a long time, the AMD Radeon HD 5450/6450 were the cheapo fanless older solutions for getting support for certain things (like dual-link DVI for 1440p resolution) that integrated graphics didn't provide. Are there any newer replacements for these two...possibly something that uses less power with better performance?

I'd buy an R5 230 for that. Had one in my HTPC and it worked great, but the motherboard's ram slots died, so the card is in my server now.

There was a thread on here where one of those R5 230 cards wouldn't boot on some OEM branded SFF box, but a 5450/6450 would. If that problem is common, I don't know if I would recommend that card.

But you're right, it's way past time for a passively-cooled, single-slot low-profile ready card, with modern decode blocks, and HDMI2.0 outputs. (Some Maxwell v2 mobile GPU-derived card? I don't recall ever actually seeing a GT930 at Newegg.)

Probably this:

But you could just pick up a GT 710. No HEVC support, but H.264 is fine. You are correct though, it really is time for a $50 GPU with a modern hardware decode block and at least three outputs.

EDIT: Also a 6450 is slower than a Skylake iGPU so low end cards may well be heading to extinction.
I was thinking more $9.99-after-rebate GPU, lol, as that's what the 5450 and 6450 have been going on sale at for 5+ years now. I hate resorting to these cards in newer builds with better iGPUs because the onboard HDMI or DVI can't handle >1080p resolution. If you get one of those 27" Korean 1440p monitors with just dual-link DVI connection but aren't a gamer, your budget options are limited as almost no motherboard comes with a dual-link DVI connection.
