Here on sub300.com

Of course i would immediately reformat that crappy lindows OS and install windows/linux, but this laptop is definately sweet, small and light, especially for $850.

However, this website does not ship to malta. I can use the name to find this model on other websites that do ship to malta.

Alternatively, where can i find a similar 12" screened, small, light and sleek laptop for that price?

Are you saying you're willing to spend $850 on a laptop that has a VIA 1GHZ Antaur CPU, with integrated 'Savage' graphics?

I'm sure there better deals to be found on the net.

Go to sites like Pricegrabber to search. If you're flexible on the size of the screen, there may be some sweet deals available, including the ones available at Dell and at eCost for refurbished notebooks.

I just picked up an HP laptop (not sure the number, but 4610 comes to mind) 2500 barton, 256 meg memory (one slot free) 40 gig HD, DVD/CDRW combo for $699 after rebates at Circuit City. Why would anybody spend $818 on that thing (yuk.....) when you can find deals like I got all the time ?

Form factor is very important to me.

I would choose a 500mhz P2 that is small and light over a P4 that looks like a brick like the DELL XPS.

Yeah I think the ones Zepper posted woild be better choices. The one you found definitely looks nice and slim, but it doesn't have a cd rom onboard. Sound's like it's got an external bay that you plug a regular 5 1/4 cd rom into. That'd be a little heavy if you ask me.
