Me and a friend of mine have been trying to figure this out for some time now:
What is the name of the actor?
He is a TV-movie actor I would say.
Sorry I remember so little about him.
I kind of remember seeing him in a some Western ...
And I only remember one movie really.
He is the head of some Ivy league University, the ??? Academy.
Some kids cheat and the whole thing comes up but the faculty can't prove it.
But the students fear that one of them might tell the faculty.
Then the kid who they fear might tell on them accidently finds out that one of the students and the head of the university are both gay and have sex.
The student who is gay then kills him and makes it look like suicide.
(He makes it look like the kid killed was rejected by MIT but he wasn't).
One student finds out it wasn't suicide and the whole thing comes up ....
They have a shoot out in some cellar or so.
