I have an abit kt7. It works great. I know the new board is the kt7a. I thought the IWILL kk266 was the board to get but I hear there is some problem with it? I am building a system for a friend. What do you guys suggests. Geez I thought the IWILL board was better than the abit. Earlier people complained about the Abit.

I too had a KT7, and then added a KT7A.
Both are great boards, with no problems or conflicts.
Great overclockers, easy to mess with, and an ISA slot!

But, all the reviews keep saying how great the Iwill is, and how much better it is than Abit. If it's better than great, then sold! My next board will be to go along with the flow, and try an Iwill KK266. It's a little cheaper than the Abit, and is supposed to be more stable at higher clock speeds. Will soon see.

ive never used the abit board (heard to many stories of problems with them) but ive used several asus a7v133, iwill kk266, and epox 8kta3.

i really like the a7v133, its my favorite kt133a board, i just wish it had an isa slot and that it cost a little less

my second choice is the epox 8kta3, its an awsome board, and so cheap $92 at newegg. ive probably built 5 or 6 rigs with it and its a stable/fast board

third choice is the iwill board, if the price of the iwill and the epox were the same i would like those two about the same, it is a good fast/stable board.

IWILL kk266's problem only existed with some 1.1 version mobos, I have 1.2 version and it's the best motherboard for duron/t-bird, it's very stable and it will overclock better than any other mobos that's out now, plus the onboard sound is great.

Actually it was the version 1.2 that had problems which forced a recall due to improper mounting of some resistors. This caused the multiplier to remain locked even after you connected the L1 bridges. Not all v1.2 boards were affected. Others have reported problems printing with the v1.2 and v1.3 boards, and this too has been traced to a resistor, and once it has been changed, printing problems are gone.
