I've succeeded by using this pickup lines on chicks.

I envision it more as a peace offering. Indirect negotiations if you will. You get to basically ask if you are attractive enough for her to talk to you and see if she is interested without actually saying it. Also, you are really just trying to get them drunk enough to go home with you.
