What is the most User Friendly case?

The Raidmax Smilodon looks hard to beat (if you get by Raidmax's poor rep for shipping damage - maybe you could drive to ChiefValue in Jersey and pick it up) , but if you want easy to use cases with bocoup casitude at a low price (even better with instant savings running now), punch Rosewill into the search field at the top of the section and check out my thread.

Yep, it's unique! That's why they have a patent pending...

It's user friendly! And, technically, there's NO reason you couldn't use it as a case, yes? 😉

Im not saying you cant use it as a case, rather the OP asked for a CASE that is user friendly, and this is not, also this is no new conecept, rather a way of cashing in on an idea many computer builders/troubleshooters have been using for a while. This is an open platform that holds your components. I'd be interested in this but its a bit pricey.

For overall friendly to your system, I have to recommend this case.

It's been one of the coolest designs for many a new built. Construction is rated IMO as a 9.5, airflow 9.5 and overall friendly as 10.
You don't have to be a rocket scientist to see what makes this case outstanding. You can always add Yate Loon 120mm fans and make it even cooler.

Vin,

The FCC might quibble with you on that point...

Heh!

Look, let's not turn this into an issue...

The HSPC Tech Station (patent pending) is a fast-access computer case - a hardware workbench bringing PC components within easy reach yet keeping them safe and secure...
IMHO, the most user friendly computer case is a Mountain Mods U2-UFO -- specifically a U2-UFO Horizon -- the concept I came up with, not the one I own. I run an Opti-1203.

The thing is, nobody is going to go buy a Mountain Mods U2-UFO just because it's the most user friendly case out there. It costs too much for most ppl -- so, I suppose they want something that costs less.

Having said that, I am truthfully considering buying a HSPC Tech Station 2.0 Open Air Computer Case -- whatever you want to call it. To me, it's one of the few 'cases' that are more user friendly than a Mountain Mods U2-UFO.

The irony of the situation is -- it's still too expensive for most ppl. LoL!

Anyway, I don't want to hijack this thread or belittle anybody. Once again, I'm just stating my opinion!

Other than a U2-UFO or a HSPC Tech Station, what would you consider 'user friendly'? 😉

Maybe it would help if the OP gave 'us' a price range!

Oops, sorry!

Yes, this would be a good choice, in my mind's eye (never actually owned one) -- even though they're heavier than a wrecking ball.

How the heck do they mess these things up during shipping? They're like made of lead... 😉

my Raidmax X-1's box came in perfect shape with no damage whatsoever to the case. the Raidmax X-1 is also very easy to work with (screwless drive and card install, removable motherboard tray--yes, removable!)

Yea! Sometimes, we old goats do that. Mostly it EBCAC but just keeping it friendly. 😎

Your case was probably held in place by two large Styrofoam blocks. This is SOP!

Do they NOT do this with the Smilodan, gamefreakgcb?

After hearing about the problems with the case from another member here, I was too worried to accept and open mine up, and the fact that it was an impulse buy just made it hard for me to accept it and if I wanted to return it it would've cost me a fortune to ship back.

Hello all.

My pick would be the Lian Li PC-60/PC-65 series. Have to admit bias here since the Lian Li PC-65 has always been my case of choice for my own personal rig. Reasons are simple: great looks, all aluminum or alloy construction, light weight, tool-free installation, great cooling capability and fairly quiet operation.

All these reasons make it user friendly as well. The case's construction holds up to repeated openings and installs without bending or flexing. Because it's lightweight, it's easy to handle, turn, flip and lay it on it's side during system building/modding. Tool-free features like thumb screws for all case parts (even PCI covers!), removable MB tray, removable HD cages, etc. help make building fast and safe...no scratched or broken parts because a screwdriver "slipped"! Lastly, the PC-60/PC-65's are roomy inside...lots of room for components and for any type of cooling solution you'd need. This roominess lends to their great cooling abilities.

Problems with the case are few. One, detailed instructions ammount to a sheet of paper, so they assume that you've done some building before and know how to figure out where everything goes, especially the front panel connections. Second, anodized aluminum is tough and good looking, but can scratch easily. Keep that screwdriver away whenever it's not needed.

IMHO, stick with the usual suspects: Antec, Cooler Master, Silverstone and Lian Li. They'll be easy to set-up, will look great and will keep your rig running cool.

Ah, okay! That's a totally different situation!

I thought you were claiming the case was goofed up during shipping, and that didn't make any sense...

Thanks for your honesty! 😉

I absolutely love my case: Coolermaster Praetorian
Motherboard tray slides out, which is always a plus. Good fan placement. Front cover comes off with an allen wrench, giving you easy access to the 5 1/4" bays. There is no better case for the money IMO.

The term "user-friendly" needs to be further defined. Here's my idea for a case that is really "user-friendly".

All the panels come off easily, without tools, including the top.

The external drives slip in easily, and are held firmly without screws,

The hard drives are removable from the side without difficulty...no screws.

The case is quiet with the included fans.....all fans are included.

None of the panels or framework rattles or vibrates.

There is an inclued fan control system, with external temperature read-outs.

You can buy the thing with or without a high-quality PSU.

There is a high-quality air filtration system.....the air-filters are easy to exchange.

There is a built-in wire management system.

The case looks good without bling.....

There is an included manual that shows everything.

There is a selection of optional accessories for the case....it can be customized.

The case packaging is more than ok.....it always arrives perfect.

It can accomodate water-cooling without any cutting.

The interior has no sharp edges.

It's runs quiet and cool no matter the components.

It's reasonably light-weight and doesn't cost too much.

Dream-on.........🙂

Still waiting for that perfect case, for now I have my first LL on the way though.

I found the Lian Li PC-60APLUSII to be very easy to get around with so far. Everything had screws that were able to be undone with hands, but could use a screwdriver as well. The motherboard was a very easy install and it has a slide out mobo tray which makes it all the better. I adapted a 120mm fan on the back instead of the default 80mm fan, there was a piece of metal on the back that worried me, but the adapter fit on perfectly with no extra room. I have my hard drives on order so it shouldn't take much longer.
