good day dear friends,

What is the most supported, "general" Linux distro out there ?
its a quesstion of .- hmm let me say distro selection..

I'd like to help my friend - he wants to get into Linux through a more user and beginner friendly way.

he is not able to manage using Arch but he doesnt have general Linux experience to do so and maintain it efficiently.
I'm curious which distro is the great out of the box for him - which one should i recommend, is supported well, is popular and just works, doesn't break, provides a proper experience and just works.

well - probably its one with a very very large userbase.
btw. is it - by the way a good idea to have a look atthe distrowatch-ranking!?

Thanks for any advice.

My 2cents would be Linux Mint.
This should be the standard answer to any "what Linux distro do I need" questions!
If you need something other than mint you'll probably know why and what's better!

Said by someone who really needs to break down and reinstall Linux but windows fake raid and a PBOtuner AMD CPU app are stopping him!
