Ok, I haven't been on here in a while, but my Iwill KK266 has been taking a crap on me lately. I am looking to upgrade, but stability is the main factor. I hate to reboot, but I don't play very many games, I want a board that will go 30 days uptime without blinking. I was considering an EPOX board, but please advise on the most stable athlon board, and ram I guess. I will be running a XP1500+, with little or no overclock. Comaptiblity with XP2600+ would be nice as well.

IMO, any of the mainstream KT333 boards, with the exception of the Gigasuck GA-7VXR/VXRP, should be plenty stable. Personally, in my experience with Athlon boards, the Epox 8K5A series of KT333 boards is the most stable I have come across. You can find plenty of info on them here. I personally use two of the 8K5A2+ boards..fast, stable, and a pleasure to work with. :)

controler, having used two EPox 8K3A+ MB's I'd say they are quite mature and stable, w/ good OC features so you can OC a "little" w/o any issues, hope this helps :)

Personally I am a big fan of the asus a7v333-r revision 1.04. Paired with a good power supply and name brand ram this is a excellent board. I have a few systems built with them. No sporadic reboots or sudden poweroffs. The most the board has been on is 7 days straight @ 80-100% system load. Did not have to run it any longer than that.

Check out the asus formums at www.amdmb.com

Well I don't own a Epox, BUT All I have heard is great things. So look at the Epox boards WITH the new 8235 Southbridge

Also are you running Windows 2000 or Windows XP? If not then move to one of them. A lot of stability problems are because of OS, not the board

And the Athlon XP 1600 I think is cheaper than the 1500.
