Sixth sense wasn't scary, but it was interesting.

I haven't really seen any truly scary movies...IMHO at least.

the sixth sense was funny, so was the Exorcist
then again i guess every movie is funny when you're watching it at 3am, alone and in the dark (i'm weird that way :p)

I guess if I hadn't known that the blair witch project was fake, i probably would have sh!t a brick whenever I went into the woods in my back yard...

the sixth sense was a good movie, what are ya talking about? i wouldn't put it into the scary movie category but it was good. I'm hoping they can do the same with Unbreakable, which comes out soon (same director, same actor).

as for scary movies...have to agree with the exorcist and event horizon.

"Jacob's Ladder," with Tim Robbins, scared the bejabbers out of me. I still have nightmares that borrow some of the imagery from this artfully terrifying film.

id say Event Horizon was definitely freaky. earlier versions of the Firday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street Series also is worth mentioning.

I haven't really been scared by a movie since I was a kid, but the one that did it for me when I was a young pup was "Fright Night." Gave me the heeby jeebies for a week.

I guess it just depends on the person. I didn't find the Exorcist to be very scary, but a lot of people did.

I'll have to second Event Horizon. That movie was freaky as hell, disturbing!

Haven't seen too many movies that were truly scary. Hmmm, how about Scary Movie? :p

Here's a few ideas...

* The Excorcist (Get it on DVD and Freeze the 'deathface' character)
* A Nightmare on Elm Street
* Texas Chainsaw Masacre
* Halloween
* Friday the 13th
* Pumpkinhead
* The Omen
* Dead Ringers (Not necessarily a Horror flick, but it FREAKED me out)
* Jacob's Ladder (Nice imagery)
* Day/Dawn/Night of the Living Dead

I was really surprised by House on Haunted Hill. I think thats the title. The end sucked but 9/10ths of it was pretty scary. The Omen is good too. Oh yeah Ishtar and Howard the Duck were scary but I dont think it was for the reason you want.

Ghost Story. The only movie that ever came close to scaring me, and I've seen a lot of em.
