About 3000 hours of Rift.

Not a PC game, but I've put 1000+ hours into Final Fantasy Tactics

Put several hundred hours into Oblivion and Fallout 3 as well.

Those are my current addictions.

Counter-strike and its variations. Started in Beta 4, November 1999. I still play CS: Source at least once a week, nearly 14 years after I first started. I would estimate that I have 25,000+ hours logged across all versions (Steam stats are useless for figuring that out since there's a 6 year period they don't cover). No other game in my library has even 10% of that.

I probably have a bit different list from most but here is goes.

Red Baron II/3D 1990 until about 2007 when MMP imploded.
Civ 4 BTS
Team Fortress II/Day of Defeat I
Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe 1991
WWII Online/Battleground Europe 2001 to present. (free play now)
Battles of Napoleon by SSI 1988
PacWar 1992 and War in Russia 1993 by SSI
Star Flight I & II 1986 It had 800 planets back then. Just an awesome game in its day.
Morrowind/Oblivion/Skyrim

Hoping to add Rise of Flight onto that list one day but I've only been playing it for around three years right now. Its free play as well.

I love Freelancer but never figured out a way to skip the intro sequence on a new game. Every time I installed a mod I had to watch that stupid thing again. Made me crazy.

Mine would have to be CS. I don't remember exactly when I started, but I remember bunny hopping was still a thing when I just got into the game. I played the hell out of de_dust and the older maps before modded servers like jump/surf/zombie/gungame became popular.

Mileage? Well, I played Ultima Online for 7+ years, sold gold on ebay and funded 2 cross country vacations, bought my first car ($500 '89 Ford Tempo), managed emulated servers, and launched a career in software development directly as a result of the game.

I'd say it has to be Ultima Online.

Counter-Strike and WoW. If they started counting CS hours during 1.3 until now I would have thousands. They didn't until late in steam.

Does MUDs count? If yes, then there is this one damn thing with over 1000days played and counting...

I played World of Warcrack on and off for 9 years, so would say I played that the most...but you pay a sub for that, so I don't know whether that counts. I think Counter Strike is the most mileage wise, as I spent very little on it and played it for about 4-5 years.

In terms of absolute time... WoW, by far. Over a year /played, though granted a lot of that was having the game running in the background while I was off doing something else. Always had the game running as it was like a glorified irc for me.

In terms of cost/time, excluding f2p titles, HL1 by far. TFC and CS are my most played games second only to wow.

The old RTCW: Enemy Territory multiplayer was addicting. Played for way too many hours.

Bioshock.

Half-life 2 series.

For me:
AoE II: Age of Kings
Tribes 2 (still log on from time to time)
COD World at War: Zombies

Currently addicted to Civ V...vanilla...can't begin to contemplate BNW for it yet.
