<<Every time I reboot a tug boat sails through my room >>

For some reason that description is just hilarious to me.

I'd say Real Player, btw.

LOL, I was thinking the same thing.

Anyway, a few years back Nascar (the game) possessed my computer (P120) and all I could do for about 2 days was play Nascar. It booted right into the game. Also last fall I installed a screensaver and background, some travel scenery and the mouse pointer was a plane I never did figure out how to get the normal pointer back, it was still a plane after unistall and playing with various settings. New comp and reformat fixed it though. :p

The above list is a good start, though I never found Kazaa Lite to be a problem.

"I just installed ICQ and found I could get a free ride on AOL on my desk top as well as ICQ on my start menu, my desk top and whatever that thing in the lower right hand corner is. Every time I reboot a tug boat sails through my room and I get a can't desplay active x window and the damn ICQ program open on the desktop too. Geez, i just wanted to send a file."

I hate programs that spam AOL all over your system. Unfortunately ICQ has been bastardized like that ever since AOL bought it. That's why I use an alternative ICQ client like Miranda ICQ. No more crap like that. I pretty much agree with what everyone is saying in here though.

Creative LiveWare.

That suite of programs singlehandedly brought my computer to a screeching GRINDING halt. I went out and bought a GameTheater XP *very* shortly after that debaucle.

Creative Audigy package (all those bloated programs...gimme just the driver, dang it!)

But get this: IE is so *&%@ing instrusive, that some sites are designed to only be viewed properly with IE, probably unknownst to the web page author. Grrrrrrrrrr. Stupid IE.

huh? if an author makes the mistake of not checking how his site looks for different platforms and browsers, who's fault is that?
