The other thread got me thinking. I believe the Border Collie is supposed to be the most intelligent breed of Dog, but correct me if I'm wrong on that one.

No point in comparing cats & dogs though. No real good way to tell.

Anyway, intelligence in cats. I know Siamese and Maine Coons are smart...but which is the smartest breed?

You can never come to conclusion on this one. Same thing with dogs. People have different experiences with different breeds of dogs and cats. I have discussed this issue on 3-4 other boards numerous times. I know from experience :)

I've met a couple of main coons, they don't seem all that smart. I have heard good things about siamese cats.

20th generation barn cat. By that point all of the stupid ones genes should be gone. Barn cats die like crazy.

Heh no. Persians are probably the stupidiest breed of cat IMO. My apologies to Persian cat lovers, I know they're sweet, but face it, they're dumb as a box of rocks.

Here's a great website I found -- Text

No, I'm sick of it. In every cat thread, at LEAST one asshole dog owner makes EXACTLY the same post. EXACTLY. Never happens in dog threads. STOP DOING IT.

Personality
The Bengal may look like a wild cat, but breeders insist that the Bengal is as lovably friendly and docile as any full-blooded domestic cat. Fanciers describe Bengals as playful, gregarious, and energetic cats that have a generous dose of feline curiosity and that want to be involved with their owners. Not intimidated by water, they will sometimes join their owners for a swim, as long as it?s on their terms.
