What is the most exotic piece of computer/electronic hardware you own?

I have a 486 motherboard with ISA, PCI and VLB slots. It was a delight as my AMD-DX4-133 ran beautifully at 160mhz. The only real downside was the onboard cache chips are fakes. There's a slot to add a cache module, which I did get, but it was unstable at any speed with that cache inserted.

I used to have a Psion wavefinder USB radio. Ludicrously expensive - like £350 ($500) when it came out - I impulse bought one at a mega-sale for £100.

It was pretty rare, and loads of people were amused by the trippy colour changing LEDs. However, that didn't stop it from being absolute crap. I recently rediscovered mine which had been hiding in a cardboard box. I laughed a bit then tossed it.

Also have a V5 5500, but i don't know if that counts as "rare". Possibly exotic. Hmmm, how about a 939 Sempron64?

I had a power mac 6100 with a built in Dos card that was basically a 486sx. Both processors would run at the same time and you could switch between dos and os 7 or 8 by pressing apple control and enter.

You should just be able to fill a CF card with the mp3's you want to watch (usb card reader?) and be good to go without drivers if I remember correctly...

I have an old Powermac, I want to say it was a 740 or 7400, but it's been a while since I pulled it out and looked at it. That in itself isn't the exotic part, the add-in card that is still plugged in is though, when you hit apple-enter it flips over to a fully functional 486/66 mobo/processor/16MB RAM system, all contained on this board. This was bought at the time that 486's were still in style and the pentium was just coming to market, so it was fairly powerful for it's time to be just an extra card. I have yet to meet anyone else who has even heard of this card, since I assume it was taken out of production shortly after going in.

That card was the single reason I learned so much about dos, windows, and actual system configuration. More than just "click the icon to bring up the wordprocessor."

Nice! I finally meet someone else who had one. I think I have the model after yours, I specifically remember mine being a DX2/66 processor.
