I'd say Navy Seals just guessing but I'd bet there are 100 or more Delta Force troops for every on Navy Seal. Thier training is absolutely insane.

Um. There's no way to know, since the Millitary still denies the existance of the Delta Force

1. SEALs - the most elite is probably the navy seals, and more specifically seal team #6 which is the anti-terrorist team. they are at home in any environment (SEa, Air , Land) and also have the most rigorous selection process their is.

2. Delta - Pretty close to the SEALs except that they are land and air based. they are also more specialized towards anti-terror and protection. their selection process is tough, but not as physically or mentally demanding than the SEALs

3. Air Force Pararescue - Actually pretty similar to SEALs but without the mental harrasment in training or the combat part.

4. Marin Recon - The best of the marines.

5. Rangers - Standard special ops, difficult selection but their are thousands of these guys. Still some of the best troops in the world.

*Worldwide - German GSG-9, SAS and Israeli Commando's are all as good as SEALs. Also, the Israeli's go to work on a DAILY basis and nothing prepares you for combat like combat.

I'd say the SEALs back in the day when Dick Marcinko was CO of Seal Team 6. Now? It's a tossup, really.

Did you miss the news a few months back when we had this war thing in Iraq. I remeber watching Gen. Franks on CNN say several times that Seal teams and the Delta Force had been deployed throughout the northern region of Iraq.

Ask a marine: Marine Force Recon
Ask a navy man: SeALs
Ask an airforce man: Pararescue
Ask an army man: Rangers => Delta

Ask a civilian: something based on a tv show or magazine article he read somewhere....

Isn't there also another group that is pretty much known yet the military does deny the existance. 'Cause, I know they recognize the existance of the Delta Force. I remember another name though...it's denied to exist but is pretty much confirmed...

Finding the best is sometimes harder than find the worst...
I think the worst would have to be Al-Quaida.

I'm pretty sure the Army still "officially" denies that Delta Force exists, yet recently they've seemed to stop caring about secrecy.

Special Forces is harder to get into and requires much more training physically and mentally than the Rangers.

I have great respect for both since I served with them both in my 17 years in the Army, but SF was "wired tighter" than the Rangers IMHO.
