What is the most demanding game out right now?

Second place after NFS would be Doom3, seems to have the lowest FPS of any of the main games out there.

Medal of Honor Pacific Assault. Doom 3 & Far Cry run well at 1600x1200 but I need to run MOHPA at 1280x960.

Hmm, I have not tried that game yet...

The problem with the term "demanding" is that a game could be pushing so many details that it slows down the system, or it could just be poorly written and takes alot of brute strength to run it well. That makes this question sorta unanswerable...

Far Cry by far. It is DEFINITELY more demanding than anything out right now, with the possible exception of LOMAC (Lock On Modern Air Combat).

Need For Speed is not demanding, it's just coded very poorly. Same goes for Halo. Doom 3 is an example of the opposite - an EXTREMELY demanding game coded very well.

its always those console games that get ported to pc that they code badly cus they just wanna make a couple extra bucks, look at halo

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I like FC but i can run it @ 1600x1200 4xAA 4-8x AF no probs..

🙂

Um, I run NFSU2 on rig #1 below at full settings, no jerking or lag at all. Running at 1280x960. It is not demanding in the least. Are you running xfire? Xfire is known to make NFSU2 run at half it's performance, but there is a fix for it.

out of all the ones mentioned.... MOH: PA for sure.

Far Cry ran awesome on my 9800 Pro so there is no chance there 😛

LOMAC seems to be the game that everyone lags at. But as far as common games go, it varies. I mean u could mean demanding as in farcry w/ hdr lighting sense the highest ati card cannot even display the setting, or you could mean processor demanding, or video card demanding. I think MOH PA seems to be one of the most common demanding games.

....er actually ill change my vote to 3dmark'05 😉

There is no comparison imo, at least from the games I have tried. It would have to be Everquest II. That game is just EXTREMELY graphics intensive. I cant even run at 800 x 600 smoothly without killing tons of settings. And I can run Doom III on my system at 1024 x 768 just about perfect with HQ settings.

Again imo EQ II is it.

Are you kidding? Unless your running SLI you are full of sh!t. My system (a643200+6800gt) can run it ok, but deffinitely not that smooth at those settings.
