what is the most definitive illegal-drug test?

If I wanted to test someone for any/all illegal drugs, what is the best test?

Urine- 2 weeks
blodd- 30 days
hair - 3 years

I know those first two numbers are right (for people with an average metabolism), but I could be pulling the hair one outta my ass.

For drugs currently in your system, I would say blood. IIRC though hair will actually store some residual amount of certain drugs for a longer period. I'm not a doctor or pathologist though so I might be incorrect.

Depends on how much you want to spend, what you are testing for & how far back you want to go.

Short-term, urine tests are pretty accurate for drugs like Cocaine & Heroin ... Valium & similar anti-dep's will be detectable for a longer period & weed can be detected for 90-120 days if the person smoked a lot. Hair tests are accurate for a much longer period of time, but also cost the most & blood tests are actually no more reliable then urine for most drugs... less so in some cases.

Only if your hair has been growing for ten years, and I haven't seen many GIs with long, flowing locks.

I imagine most general practioners (Dr.) don't really know much about it.

i think they only test the folicle, and hair folicles can definately last for ten years.

It stays in your hair as long as you have the hair. I would say that the roots of my hair will be gone in two cuts from now, so 2 months or so. That still leaves other body hair, of course. Urine is generally about a month if you are a continuous user. Not sure about blood.

This is for pot. I'm not sure how other drugs turn out, if they are any different at all.

PS - A hair follicle is the hole in your scalp that the hair is growing out of. They certainly don't pluck that from your head.

Hair is generally 3-6 months for most drugs. They can take it from many places such as your armpits, even a fingernail, so just getting your hair cut doesn't mean you're OK. So hair is the "best" way to test someone. And shaving every hair on your body before a test pretty much shows you're hiding something. Urine is a month or two at most for say a daily/heavy smoker. Not really sure on blood.

You can buy urine tests from a drug store or Walmart, but the other tests are more involved and usually are sent to a lab.
