these are the items im gonna get:

1. cpu/gpu = amd 2200g igpu
2. ram = going for 16 or 32 or 64 ram, doesnt seem like anything about ram really matter besides the amount
3. ssd/hdd = any ssd or hdd would do (there has not been any good tests or analysis from anyone that ssd is any faster than hdd for using youtube, or using chrome)
4. power supply = appears to be decided after mobo
5. mini-case = seems like its aftter power supply

whats best site that shows tests/analysis on whats the best 'mini-itx' mobo currently so we know where to ask in the future when apparently new mobos are gonna come out

these are the requirement for best mobo:

1. small size, any of the small size seems to be fine
2. fits these parts
3. easy to put together
4. not excessive beyond what is actually needed
5. anything else that is important, ppl that knows about pc building, and are informed on best parts should know what is important

whats best site that shows tests/analysis on whats the best 'mini-itx' mobo currently so we know where to ask in the future when apparently new mobos are gonna come out

helpful links is helpful

I guess it would depend.

In my case I bought the Asrock B450 Fatal1ty Gaming ac/ITX.

I used it with an R3 2200G and 8gb of ddr4 2666 ram. This is my HTPC.

It has never let me down since I built it this spring.

Word says the B550 boards won't be out unit 1st quarter next year.

ok since apparetnly some mobos are gonna come out next year, and ppl say to see

guess we'll ask in 4 months or so

to find the best small mobo

looks like best cpu wont have changed by then since apparentl it hasnt for 3+ years....

so looks like this pc thing / industry is something to check up on once every 10 years or so

since this is the first + last build we'll just get the best prebuilt in longrun

You really have to stop spouting nonsense and learn about pc components. Generally ITX boards have two ram slots so 64 Gigabytes is pretty much a non-starter. And yes you are wrong that nothing really matters about ram except the "amount" Frequency and timings matter a great deal especially with Ryzen cpu's. The best ITX boards for Ryzen are easy to find. They are the most expensive at about $225-$250. Don't delude yourself that a mechanical hard drive makes no difference vs a solid state drive in every day computing tasks. Lastly it makes no sense to buy what is basically a budget cpu and then get the "best" motherboard or best anything else for that matter.

This.

PS. Streaming at higher bitrates, generally hits the drive too, and it HAS been noted in several reviews that I've read over the years, that streaming is SMOOTHER, and LESS SKIPPED FRAMES, WITH an SSD. (Think, 4K VP9 YouTube.)

Edit: With a "modern" Ryzen (AM4) motherboard, you really should be looking at PCI-E NVMe M.2 SSDs, and not HDDs, except as secondary drives for bulk storage for movies or games.

Four months? So I see you are the type of guy who is always talking about building a rig but never does and uses the excuse that something is always better around the corner.....

The only reason that I can think of offhand, for waiting for a new ITX mobo to show up, might be waiting for modified / revised boards of current models, with 32MB capacity BIOS chips onboard. (aka "Max" versions, for MSI at least). That's really the only valid reason that I can see for waiting. There's nothing wrong with current boards otherwise. (*)

(*) The reason to wait for the larger capacity BIOS chips, is that there have already been some noticeable limitations on boards using the older 16MB capacity BIOS chips, given the amount of new code for newer AM4 CPUs, and RAM tables, and having to drop support for older AM4 CPUs because of that.

BTW, OP, have you considered this:

The newest 500-series AMD AM4 chipsets, starting with X570, ARE NOT compatible with 1st-gen Ryzen CPUs. And, the 2200G, while bearing the 2000-series numbering, is in fact, 14nm and first-gen. IMHO, it remains to be seen whether the rumored (*or announced?) B550-chipset boards even support the 2200G and 2400G.

I mean, hopefully they will, but at this point, I don't think it's guaranteed.

Edit: OTOH, it's almost a certainty, that the B550 boards should have 32MB (*or larger!) BIOS chips onboard.

That being said, I wonder if those Gigabyte-branded dualBIOS (tm) boards, that work using a larger BIOS chip, and just dividing it in half logically for two BIOSes, could be re-configured, so that they instead act like a single, large, BIOS chip. (Or even better, offer two parallel sets of BIOSes, one that works as a single large chip, and one that works as originally-configured, as a dualBIOS (tm)).

Edit: Did some searching, seems some Redditors thinks that there aren't going to be any "Max" ITX boards released.

cpu has been finalised

2200G = best
1600 = 2nd best if discrete gpu

from https://forums.anandtech.com/threads/cpu-thats-currently-better-than-2200g.2574507/
1) The 2200G is NOT the best CPU, and the 1600 is NOT the second best CPU.
- 2200G is the best APU for the money when ONLY price to performance ratio is considered.
- 1600 is the best CPU for the money when ONLY price to performance ratio is considered.
- The best mainstream CPU is either the 3950X or the 9900KS.
- The best HEDT CPU is the Threadripper 3970X.

2) You say "looks like best cpu wont have changed by then since apparentl it hasnt for 3+ years...."
- This is incorrect. The 2200G was released in early 2018, it is 1.75 years old.
- The best CPU HAS changed over the last 3+ years.
- The best price-to-performance CPU for currently available chips has changed as well over the last 3+ years.

You are spouting off wrong comments left and right. They're not even ignorant - we have tried to specifically tell you, but you keep stating incorrect things. Please think before you post.

The original poster asks for help yet never seems to take anyone's advice and seems pretty brusque about it to boot.
