caer to elaborate?

Civil Air Patrol, we were looking for a lost plane. In mountainous terrain, a search plane is totally out of communication ( line of sight) with the mission base, and an orbiting aircraft is the only way to maintain communication. If your engine quits in the search at 500~800AGL, you will have a minute or so to let somebody know;)
It has never happened on one of the searches I participated in, but it is nice to know somebody is looking out for you.

SFO to HK

Non stop, roughly 14 hours. well that's what the ticket listed. I know it took us maybe 30 minutes longer though.

then another 2 hours from there to vietnam.

I will never go coach again on flights like that. Business class from now on. I don't care if it'll cost me twice as much.

Rome to Newark was about 9 hours, it's always longer on the way back...

Please don't tell me that you slept for the whole 12 hours. That would be like hell for your body.

Anyway, I digress. My longest time was from somewhere in Europe to Singapore, but I was too young, so I hardly remember the details.

But most of the flights I've been on were ~9 hours (from BRU to BOM).

almost 24 years on the giant hot ball magma express through the Milky Way. I get the feeling we are traveling in circles, though...

I think mine was Miami to Sao Paulo. I once flew from Baltimore to Qatar, but that necessitated a stop at Sigonella NAS in Sicily, so neither leg of the flight was THAT long.

I can't remember the exact time, but something around 13 to 14 hours.
It was supposed to be a routine flight from Nairobi, Kenya to Frankfurt, Germany ( about 9 hours). But it turned out there was some border scrap threatening between Libya and Egypt or something stupid like that (I don't recall exactly this was 25 years ago). We had to divert across Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Turkey, Soviet Union, and Poland to get to Germany.

LOL, what is the point of threads like these, when no one reads, just write their response?

Then again, I'm sure most of OT is just a DB of crap that no one would read, but plenty of people would love to add their two cents...

Heh, yeah I actually did read all of the responses, but I tend to think I am more observant than the average person.

But I guess you wouldn't know what I am talking about as you seem to have more to say than you take in...

I'm taking in plenty, thanks. FYI, I do read most if not all of the responses before I post, so I don't post random stuff and look like a total idiot. Also, since you seem to be "more observant tan the average person," you might want to try NOT neffing and threadcrapping. If you think the OT is just a "DB of crap that no one will ever read" then I suggest you stop neffing and threadcrapping and go somewhere else. No one's forcing you to browse OT.
