for me, about 30 feet. i walked sideways across a crosswalk in town one time.

i noticed my friend was sitting in his car at the red light, so i decided to walk sideways to make him laugh. at first he looked confused, and then chuckled. by the time i was in front of his car he was laughing, and by the time i was in the other lane we were both crying from laughing so hard.

About 3 feet.

More importantly how would Alky respond to this crucial question?

"Bro, I did it sideways with your mom last night, we finished 50 feet away from where we started. Do you even lift?"

I'd say the longest for me might be 10 feet? From one end of my server room hot aisle to the other. Just guessing the length though off top of my head. Might be a bit more. I never anticipated for the wall framing in my plans. It's going to be even smaller when I add the drywall. Could not really have made it any wider though without losing front space. Not like I have to go behind there a lot.

~200'x8 bridge spans

edit:
Giving it more thought, it was probably ~700'x5 bridge span. I had to walk on prestressed conc beams that had rebar loops in the top so you couldn't walk normally. That sucked.

500 ft+ but not as a comedy option. We did drills back and forth across a football field sideways for band.

500+ feet, but I'm not joking. I used to be in several drum lines; you always had to march sideways, usually several times across a football field.

Probably 250 yards and that was a type of jogging on the beach.
I woud jog different ways to work on different muscle groups. And it worked.
I did that before that guy on TV developed his method of basically doing the same thing.
And he has info commercials and charges for teaching that.
Shit, I was doing that long before he ever started selling the idea.
I also would jog doing this arm maneuver thing. Kind of a boxing punch.
It really put on the abs.
The TV guy teaches that too and claims ownership of that as well.
I started and was doing all of that long before he ever was.
Or before he started his info-commercials thing.

God I miss San Diego and blacks beach... :(

Probably about 50 feet, on scaffolding while putting a roof on a shed. What an odd question, though.

wow, i never knew band folks had to do this!

that kind of makes me glad that they didn't accept piano players on the marching band

Oh right totally forgot when I had a moving job, probably did go quite some distances sideways as well. I remember having to bring computer chairs and tables up to the boiler room of the school, that was not very fun. Very steep and narrow stairs. Then a day later they decided it all had to come back down. Hey, I was getting paid per hour. Whatever lol.
