What is the Lifespan of an LCD?

I'm getting opions anywhere from 10,000hrs to 60,000 hrs.

I'd love to get feedback about LCDs in general but I'm even more interested to know about the Samsung 191T+ in particular.

It seems to me that if it were something < 10,000 hrs, then lifespan should be a major consideration, but in virtually every LCD review I've seen there is no mention of it.

the backlight is what will die first... 60,000hrs supposedly... some peoples imac had theirs die from 1.5yrs to 2.5yrs... weird.

depends on how u treat it, if u powersave and let it turn off the screen then the light wont burn when the screen is off eh, but if you use a screensaver (even if it's black) the light stays on all the time. and if it stays on 24/24 instead of 8/24 the light wont last as long eh.

Thanks Blastman, that's just the sort of information I was looking for.

Now all I need to do is figure out where Samsung quotes the life expectance of thier monitors specifically. I mean they gotta say somewhere right?
