What is the lifespan of a fly?

I discovered I've got a few flies inside my place. I have the option of either killing them myself or letting them live their lifespan. So wondering, how long do they live for?

I plan on having a fly free environment in the next couple of days.

I HIGHLY recommend you track down and kill those flies with utmost haste. A few years ago I left the backdoor of my house open to move in some furniture and a couple of flies got in. I killed one but I could'nt find the others, well about a week later I had literally more than 40 or 50 flies swarming around. It was a freaking nightmare, I finally had to set off a bug bomb in the house and I ended sleeping in a hotel that night. The next day I had the disgusting task of vacuming up dead flies, it turns out that the flies had somehow found a way into the kitchen garbage can and where breeding like crazy.

Moral of story kill all flies in your house post haste

or simply toss out the trash every night?
