water?

Anyone know? How much water does it take to overload your kidneys and kill you? Not drowing, like drinking too much water to the point of death?

Weird, we were talking about this in the cafeteria last night. No one thought you could possibly overdose on water.

This would take some time, wouldn't it?

I'm pretty sure you would throw up any water that you couldn't handle. I guess your stomach could explode but the probability of dying before you threw up is little to none. I doubt you can die via drinking water.

Yes you can. Too much water and you will drown internally.

your blood can not transport enough oxygen if it is too diluted as well.

Anyway my excessive water drinking experience:

I was bet that I coudn't drink 20 cups of cold water (pounding them back one after the other, no breaks)
i made it to 16 and i puked. So, if u drink it really fast, your gag reflex will cure you of the possibility of drowning, however if you drank like 2 cups every 5 minutes you'd probably have a higher chance of killing yourself.

I always thought it would cause the brain to swell. Ouch...
hehe... it only takes 50ml per kg of body to kill a rat! Or at least half the rats...

20 cups as in 20 measuring cups?

i think they were a bit bigger, but it was a while ago. It worked out to be about a gallon and a half.

Dr. Drew said that the risk was, for all intensive purposes, nonexistant (even though, yes, it can happen) .... it came up in a conversation on extasy.

Well yeah. I doubt I have the will power to drink so much water of an extended period of time that I die. Really... I can think of much better ways to go. Like a bottle of sleeping pills. I take em... and sleep myself to death.
