Probably the hottest deal I found on the net was my Sony DVP-F5 portable DVD Player for $219, retailed for $600+

What's yours?

God..there should be a Hot Deals Hall of Fame..
Some memorable ones:
- Value America
- Dell shopping cart bug
- Bed, Bath, & Beyond 50% coupon
- Staples coupon abuse

Can't beat ValueAmerica. That is the standard by which all others will be measured. Who needed coupons when they gave you 50% off of low prices - without limitation - on any item?

I joined AT right as VA was hitting its stride. I didnt' have any cash around that time, so I couldn't take advantage of it. That's actually how i ended up here, was the deals.

The one that I did get in on was the $400 Best Buy/MSN deal. $400 instant rebate at best buy. That was the best. deal. ever. :)

I would guess Value America or Accompany. I have a well worn Nikon 950 camera that can still be fleabayed for more than what I bought for it new at Accompany at that time. Big mistake when they changed their name to mobshop; everyone thought they were connected to the mob, LMAO.

Here are the 2000 and 2001 DOTY (Deal Of The Year) nominations.

My favorite deal was getting $400 for FREE from OfficeDepot, courtesy of Bill Gates & MSN :D

Picked up a Brother HL-1240 laser printer for $0 and my friend bought a Palm Vx for $0 this was around January 2001 I think.

Value America, carpet shampooer, DVD's, coffee table, appliances, too much to list
That rating site where you got points for each vote, I got like 20 DVD's for free from there and some shirts for free
buybidwin, countess free DVD's and small appliances
MSN $400, they gave me a free HT reciever with one day of a contract (back when I lived in CA)
Tower Records, many coupons for free DVD's
There were more like the pet threads and stuff too.

A few years ago the DVD deals were all over for free shipped or less then 5 delivered, but alas they ran dry and we killed quite a few sites.

Ah the gravy train days, those were the best days *wipes away tear*.

Back when Reel.com and 800.com were kings, RIP.

I have amassed a 300+ DVD collection (90% of them still shrink wrapped) thanks to DVDTalk.com and DVDPriceSearch.com

I like the GeForce 4 TI4600 pre-order for $129 deal I found at BestBuy.com.

Unfortunately, it never went through... :(

Posting it on Hot Deals was awesome, though. The thread had close to 900 replies or something like that before the mods deleted it!

Free Porn. J/K ;)

<-- Sorry, it had to be said.

Mine was similar - $400 credit at MicroCenter when you sign up for eTrade at whatever the cost was... my parents wanted to do eTrade then anyway.

The best thing about the FREE $400 MSN deal was CA/OR residents could sign up for 3 years of MSN and thanks to a loophole in the contract you could cancel your MSN membership with no penalties what-so-ever. After a few months and this deal gathered national attention they amended their agreement and closed this loophole.

About two yeas ago, I read that Office-Max was selling the Canon PowerShot S10 digicam for $250, which was like $200 cheaper than any e-tailer I'd found.

Well, I don't hang around AT-HD too much anymore. But my best deal was my most recent, getting a Compaq 1500T laptop for nearly $400 off of retail through Costco. $90 off of Compaq's price for being a member, and $300 in instant and mail in rebates. Plus I got a free wireless card coupon in the box. $1244 for a PIV 1.5Ghz, 256MB, DVD, 15"TFT, 32MB ATI Radeon laptop with wireless access is a killer deal :)

Canon s100 for 199 at staples/office depot/office max error when it retailed for 499.

1000-1200 or so free in the 20 off 20 and 10 off 10 coupons at office depot and staples.
