There was once a member named Nef. He used to post the most inane shit and he did it constantly. Before he got banned the act became known as neffing, and was an offense on the forums. Before we had infractions the mods didnt even know the best ways to deal with it, because it had varying degrees of disruption on the forum.
One night back in the spring of 2006 a crapload of people posted continuous Nef threads. It was awesome and awful at the same time. The mods tried holding back the tidal wave but were unable to stop it.
Eventually they were all locked and most were deleted. The next morning they had a sticky thread with a stern warning not to repeat, and a long list of vacations and bans just to make their point clear.

That would later be known as The Night of a Thousand Nefs.

Back before anyone was on this forum, but instead red dawn, h8tank, Russ, dennyfloss, Harvey, nowhereman, and elphenix (few others I don't remember off the top of my head, I was 17 at the time so it's been 13ish years) we had a different forum: one that would crash and lose all of our post counts and erase every forum.

This is where "first!" came from, as you were litterealy the first to start a thread on the sub forum.

Well, Neff figured that his post count was unfairly low and that this "first" bullshit was just that; so to boost his post count and be a satericall ass he posted his name over and over.

Thus posting to up one's post count is neffing.

I was MagnisKain at the time and my spelling was so poor that it was the basis of many complaints and the kindly elfinix would translate for everyone I got banned but received amnisty some many years latter: though I still skirt the line heavily because of my winning personality. (I also grew up and stopped being a horrible relegious troll)

Also: obvious nestalgia troll is obvious.
