What is the most difficult/hardest game you have ever played on console ?

For me.....

Super Ghouls And Ghosts (Super Nintendo)

Probably BlazBlue:Calamity Trigger. Then again, I haven't played that many console games, and I suck at fighting games.

Of all games ever? That's hard to think of all the console games I've ever played. Guitar Hero is probably the most challenging. MW2 campaign is a bitch on harder difficulties.

Ketsui ~Kizuna Jigoku Tachi~ on X360.

But if it has to be a genuine console game and not an arcade port, I'll probably have to say Gradius V.

I never had a console until recently so I never played those old NES or SNES games. But I did play the demo for Mega Man 9 and couldn't get past the first few enemies.

Oh and N+ can be extremely hard as well. Depends entirely on the level. Most of the ones included with the base game aren't too hard but there are bonus levels that are insane.

Wow, I totally forgot about Battletoads. Awesome game...but hard as shit in the underground racing where you jump the ramps. Although Super Ghouls And Ghosts is still my top pick.

Maybe Devil May Cry 3 "PS2" also.

I had Blaster Master as well. And I just loved that "car" "hovercraft" whatever it was. But it was great.

Also while not the hardest game, The Double Dragon series offered alot of challenges as well.

I've gotta say the Live Arcade port of Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting. Both me and my friend got our asses kicked bad by the computer, and the difficulty setting did literally nothing to change that. The only way we were able to win was by being cheap (I was able to beat maybe 4 people by using E Honda and just hand slapping the whole time). I've never had that much of a problem in any game that I can remember, and I swear the game is broken, but no one else seems to have had any issue with it.

Try fighting Akuma in Super Turbo... Now that was broken.
