Does that film cover something of game theory and if so can somebody tell me what the theory was? How do you win?

It's more about the psychosis of Nash. Russell Crowe did an excellent job in the film, imo.

i'd say its more about John Nash's personal struggle than his work. don't remember any mention of whatever game theory is, unless thats the name of his economic theory. Russell Crowe, like him or hate him, really does turn in an excellent performance in the movie.

SPOILER. Don't read below if you intend to see this movie!!!!!!

It's based on his life essentially. The poor guy has a psychosis I think it's called.
It starts out innocently enough. The military wants him to crack a code. He does it.
Then his psychosis kicks in and he thinks this guy (Ed Harris) wants him to do secret work for the government.
He spends a ton of time looking for codes in magazines and whatnot that don't really exist. Finally he has a breakdown and they find out about his psychosis. They put him in a mental hospital and finally end up giving him some pills.
The pills however prevent him from concentrating so he decides not to take them after a while and the psychosis starts again.
Just when everything is about to go totally downhill and his wife is ready to leave for good he finally realizes that the people he thinks he's been seeing are only illusions. The rest of the movie is basically about his return to the university and his fight to overcome his psychosis. For what he faced, to overcome his psychosis like that is simply amazing.

Anyways it's a good movie about a very interesting gentleman.

It's about a genius who is schizophrenic who believes he has to detect hidden international messages in magazines. The real John Nash was into game theory, I don't think they mentioned it much in the film(if at all). It's about his struggle with schizophrenia and how he deals with it.

It doesn't talk much about game theory at all. It has about 5 minutes on how he got the idea and how he got to working for the government because of his breakthrough. I think any video about schizophrenia and John Nash would have more info about it. There are some documentaries about him that explain it more in-depth.

It's about a mathematician, very intelligent, who helped discover or should I say formulate some theories of economics, particurlarly the theory of equilibrium. It was a part of his thesis as a grad student. He was a mathematician, but his theory is best applied in economics.

He has schizophrenia. All that while I thought I was listening to crazy British roommate it was all in my imagination too. :p Luckily he had an enduring wife. After the film was over, I learned that the wife and he had divorced before but came back together. I hope my recollection isn't failing me here.

That happened in real life, but they didn't show it in the movie. He also married once and divorced with a child before Jennifer Connelly came along.

Good movie and some of the facts were changed for the movie, for instance he didn't become ill til he was in his 30's and not in college. His wife did leave him and apparently came back to him. Also he never gave the speech when he recieved the nobel prize.

Its about perpetuating the lie that anti-psychotropic drugs cure schizophrenia.
