What flavor was the last fastest NVIDIA PCI video card. I know there's the 5700, but I'd prefer to stay away from the 5-series. I vaguely remember seeing a 6200 at one time, but is there by chance a PCI 6600?

I'm wanting to stay away from ATI at the moment because Vista doesn't play nice with spanning multiple monitors across different drivers.

Fastest i've seen is a 6200 PCI. Rare to find though! :)

It looks like the 6200 is your best bet. I didn't see any 6600s, probably not worth the price premium if
you did find one.

Asking for the fastest PCI card is like asking what the fastest Fiat is. The fastest PCI card is hardly adequate for *gaming.* What are the rest of your system specs? Maybe you should save to upgrade instead of dumping extra $50 into nothing. And if you just want to run dual monitors, speed will not affect 2d performance, at least not without benchmarking :)

Actually, it's for a quad-monitor setup, thanks for asking. :)

And no, it's not for gaming. However as I said, for various reasons, including heat, I would prefer to avoid the 5-series NVIDIA cards.

6200 is the best Nvidia but it pales compared to ATI offerings.

........MT/s GB/s
5500 1080 6.40
6200 1200 8.83
9100 2000 8.00
8500 2200 8.80 (9100 reclocked)
1300 1800 8.00 (450 core)
1300 2400 8.00 (Pro 600 core)
1550 2200 12.80

Then just get the cheapest Geforce 6 card you can find.
