What is the fastest memory for the ABIT NF7 board?

I am thinking about buying either the ABIT NF7 or the NF7-S motherboard. What is the fastest memory it will support? I guess I need a little updating on the memory that is out there first......the last system I had used DDR PC2100 (266mhz) memory. Now I see that there is stuff all the way up to PC4200. Can someone give me the break down of the differences between all these DDR memories and which ones will work with this board? Thanks

You reach a law of diminishing returns after PC3200 or so. Prices go up, but the performance curve isn't as sharp. Since AMD's platform does not take advantage of such memory bandwidth and you can overclock by changing the multiplier, PC3200 should be fine. In fact, PC2700 would probably cut it as well if you're looking to save a couple bucks. I went with PC3200 to future proof against 200mhz cpus. 🙂
