TIA

I put a 650mhz/slot1 CuMine in mine, use SS bios, set CPU at 1.7v. It's been running fine 4 years...I suspect ~800mhz is max.

tominator,
Do I need to update my bios in order to drop in a 1gig Celery? I've heard that I will if I go with a PIII.

buy powerleap's slot-tutalin adapter, which comes with a 1.2 celeron tutalin (pretty fast) and a HSF... for $169.

BH6 rev 1.0x should be flashed to BIOS rev SS. BH6 rev 1.1 and above should be flashed to SP. I run a 1GHz Celery @ 112 FSB, 1.12 Ghz in my Kids PC with a BH6. Works great.

How do I know which rev I have? The CD that I got with the setup says REV. BX-1.52E but that doesn't seem to help me.

<< Look on the last ISA slot. >>

I looked but I don't see any clues...
What should I be looking for?

On both of my BH6 boards

look on the bottom of the last ISA slot...if the mobo is mounted vertically in your case you might need to remove it or use a mirror to read. But there is a sticker there that gives a bit of info including the revision #. Mine are 1.01 and 1.02

Let me see if I've got this right...this sticker is on the bottom of the motherboard??? :Q Excuse me for sounding shocked but how friggen stupid is that? I have to pull out the mobo just to find out which rev it is??? why does this lack of common sense not surprise me. The eggheads strike again.

or perhaps I'm still not getting it

not on the bottom of the mobo, on the side of the last ISA slot. So if your mobo is mounted vertically, it would closest to the ground...hope this clears things up.

An easy way to tell if you have a 1.0x or a 1.1 is to look at the rear ATX connectors (mouse, keyboard, printer, etc ports). The 1.0x are plain white. The 1.1 are colored like newer boards. BTW, ignore the 850 MHz max stated by Abit. Not true.

Ditto colored connectors on later model and the BIOS version is shown on boot. Let's not make things complicated ;)
