what is the english equivalent to a "rodriguez"

a coworker friend from barcelona told me his wife was away on vacation and he joked that he is now a "rodriguez". this slang term is supposed to mean a married guy who is temporarily alone and can sort of "break the rules" or something...

he was wondering if what had any similar term in english but I couldn't think of any, can you?

Rodriguez is a fairly common name if I remember correctly... Almost like Jones or Smith.

yes, derived from bachelor, the married guy on his own for a week is 'batchin it", meaning a temporary bachelor

Me and my friends use the word, "Rodriguez" to refer to the same thing, even though we're all native English speakers
