I want to do it without having to re-install windows or any of my software. Is there a way to just swap old one wiht the new one and just turn my computer on? Thanx!

Some folks suggest removing all the devices from Device Manager right before you shut down the machine for the last time with the present mainboard. This can work. The problem is that the new mobo has has a new Bios. Straight ahead with Mariahnet.org!! What an artist, words alone just don't do her justice!

To change motherboard without reinstalling Windows:
Before you switch motherboards open regedit and under HKey_Local_Machine delete "Enum"
Shutdown and upon reboot Windows will redetect motherboard hardware. Be sure to have your drivers handy. If you don't do this you will most likely have a lot of duplicates in device manager, not always seen in windows but if you open device manager in Safe Mode they will be there.
