What is the easiest software to use to build a website?

I am looking to build a website. Is there any software that can help make it easy. Hopefully it won't be expensive.

I think it depends on how complex you get. FrontPage is REALLY basic, but easy to use. Dreamweaver is a good choice, fairly expensive, though.

If you want it really cheap, get something like NS Composer and combine this with ConTEXT, a free editor with highlighting

I personally use DreamWeaver UltraDev 4, Edit+ and Paintshop Pro 7 to create sites.

BTW never start using FrontPage. It's an evil program that will cause to you fail later in your life

Definitely pick up Dreamweaver. Even lets you pop Flash! elements in there without too much of a hassle.

Of course, if you've got the time, Notepad is the way to go. Frontpage is suck.

Another vote for dreamweaver, the learning curve is not steep at all, especially if you want to do it all graphically, but it even helped me learn html code quickly too.

Are you talking about making a webpage or serving a website?

For page making, I like Adobe GoLive over Dreamweaver

For webserving, it doesn't get any simpler than Quid Pro Quo on the Mac.

I do my webserving with Apache though. It's much more complex (and full featured).

I also like Dreamweaver. Simple to use, easy to cr@ck. Fireworks is a pretty sweet program for creating and editing pics as well. Basically, if it's Macromedia, it's a solid program with tons of tips in the help files.
