[It's called a tittle]

Did you know that? New to me.

You learn something new everyday. What is something new you have learned today? (besides tittle).

"For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled"

Mosh talking about tittles is not surprising.

What is interesting is that a word used to describe something as one in it. Mind = blown.

EDIT:

However I DID just learn that putting [] around something forces it to not appear on the preview. MORE MIND BLOWN. Ty Mosh!

The phrase "saved by the bell" is thought to have come from the practice in England of having bell attached to a coffin in case the person was still alive, there were cases when they went to reuse graves, they found scratch marks on the inside of the coffin. But in a historic review of the phrase, it only really shows up in reference to boxing and someone who might have gone down getting a reprieve due to the round ending and the bell going off.

Interesting....

I heard this same story in reference to those that died in Savannah, Georgia when yellow fever hit in the 1820's. They referred to it as the origination of the phrase, "Dead Bell Ringer", as people inflicted had fell into a coma and left for dead, some buried alive. After realizing this they put a bell inside coffins just in case a person buried could alert others that he/she was still alive.

I learned what a tittle is.

Last night while jogging, I learned that there are 2 or 3 coyotes living on the ~1/4 acre patch that lies between a target and a city park. Ran straight into them about 100ft away. Previously, I had picked up from somewhere that when close to them, the first thing to do is harass them if you don't want to be in danger. Waved my ipod around in the darkness as I ran past 'em, and they left me alone.

i knew it. i learned it from a grammar teaching after she read us a bible verse (i attended a christian school) about every jot or tittle or some such

someone asked what a tittle was, and she circled the dot...which made a tit, which was fucking hilarious to everyone in class.

I only ever thought of it as reference to the bell in boxing.

If she had circled two of them, would the left or right be lower?
