im building a system and im looking at memory at newegg. what is the difference between 32X64 and 32X72?? price difference is $13.00 the 32X72 is more expensive.

The 32x72 is error correcting modules (ECC). You have to have a mobo that supports it to use it.

ECC is not the choice of RAM for a home system. It's mainly for network servers because ECC is Error Correcting Code RAM. It's more accurate than non-parity RAM but it's also slower because it actually checks the data for errors.

Yea i know all about ECC RAM. I wont get it for my home system but since i am in denver and closer to the sun every server in my farm has it.
