What is the difference between the different Zalman ZM80 VGA Heatsinks?

I see 3 listed on Zalman's site now. The ZM80-HP, which looks like a larger ZM50-HP and now there's a ZM80A-HP and a ZM80C-HP.

Does anyone know what the differences are? Which would be best for a ATI 9500 Pro card?

TIA,

Sal

I have the ZM80C-HP... It features little screw on plates that supposedly make sure the heatsink is even.... And the same rails those plates screw into accomodate the OP-1 fan. The model A isn't ready for the fan, as I understand it.

Plus the C is cool grey, and the A is goofy gold! (BTW, I have both. C on r9800pro and A on gf4ti4400)

Which one do you like better besides the color? What about the ZM80-HP? Do you know what they changed for the "A" model? They look the same to me.

Thanks again!

I don't know about the C, but the original 80 was redesigned and designated A to fit the radeon 9700, when it came out. It wasn't much of a change - I suspect it was just a matter of adding a second size of base plate to choose from.

The 'A' works just as well on nvidia cards, as I'm using one now on a GF4 ti4400, with no problems. I'm running the GF4 stock, with no fan on the heatsink, and although the temps worried me a bit in the height of summer, I've never seen any problems, and have been very happy with it. Especially because my GF4 was the creative blaster - the original leaf blower!

I am using the A on a 9700pro. Seems to work well, a bit of pain to install the first time, but now seems easy that I know the trick. I also have Zalman FB123 bracket with at 92mm fan in silent mode blowing over the vid card and somewhat the chipset. Supposedly the C version is slightly more efficient, but I just did not like the look of that small fan that comes with it.
