What is the difference between hauppauge PVR150 and PVR250

PVR 150:-

They do look pretty similar, and I guess that this post is not much help but at least its a bump 🙂
 
They are nearly identical; read up about them on the site: basically, in a stunning move by a technology company, they got a new tuner for that line that's cheaper, so rather than just sell them at a higher profit margin, they released a cheaper card with the exact same features. Don't know why the 250 hasn't been discontinued, get the 150. I did, I really like the quality.

I have no idea to be honest. Im happy with my PVR-250 although the 150 is "newer" and apparently a touch "better" which seems a little confusing the way the numbers work out.
 
IIRC, the 150 has the encoding and decoding on one chip & in turn cost savings are passed over to the consumer, whereas the 250 has encoding & decoding on 2 seperate chips.

thats what i understand too. its the exact same card but made in a differnt process that makes it less expensive. it is amazing the 250 is still going. the lower number of the newer card confuses things even more.
