What is the difference between DVD+R and DVD-R?

I was currently in the market looking to purchase a dvd recordable drive and i came across DVD-R and DVD+R terms. Can someone explain the difference to me? Thanks.

Nothing if your burner can support both formats and the best price you can find on the media (I've always noticed DVD-R is cheaper then DVD+R).

Why DVD+R is superior to DVD-R

I strictly use DVD+R and make sure all my target devices support it. if you want data to be stored for a looong time you'd want DVD+R and not DVD-R (while you're at it, get tayo yuden media (verbatim data life plus made in jap is tayo yuden, and all plextor DVD's are tayo yuden discs)

the higher ECC bit value mentioned in that article might explain those 7 megs -R has over +R
