CV is more common to academic jobs. At the Uni, your CV lists your experience related to the type of academic job you're looking for... education, any particular classes, particular research projects, your list of publications.

I've always taken a resume to be a complete employment history that doesn't really have the same focus as a CV.

Google for examples.

actually, CV is just another term for an internal resume. My company uses it in case clients request to see my credentials when working on a project. If a company's asking for a more detailed CV, they probably just want you to describe your previous job experience/qualifications in more detail than what is on your resume.

CV is an abbreviated cut down form of a resume that just lists your education, job history without going into much detail

resume is to write about your experiences in working and why do you want to work at that place. they will ask you what college you attended since college helps you prepare for the work world.
