What is the difference between a prostitute and a porn star?

I'm sorry if this is not appropriate to talk about on this forum.

I was wondering the other day.

Definition of a Prostitute
One who solicits and accepts payment for sex acts.

What a porn star does
Gets paid to do sex acts while being photographed/video taped.

So what is the difference? If one were to hire a prostitute and perform sex acts and video tape it to sell later, would that be legal?

Yes, as long as you aren't paying her to do sexual acts on you.

I never quite understood the distinction either...What if you pay a prostitute to have sex with you in your movie, filming now at the Holiday Inn, room 138? Is this still soliciting prostitution?

Is there some sort of pornographer's license required to start making porn?

Hookers have sex with they payer for the sake of their monetary gain and the payer's sexual pleasure. Hookers don't report income.

Porn stars have sex with someone other than they payer for their monetary gain and the payer's ability to use the porn material for sale. Porn stars usually report income :)

I think the distinction is that pornoraphy is protected under "free speech." I don't know about the filming a prostitute having sex with you, though.

And yes, it is a very valid question!

Ok, let's say for example.. Person A wants to have sex with an prostitute. Can he pay Person B to hire them both for a movie? That would make things legal? Either way.. the girl is getting paid to perform sexual acts.

Sounds reasonable.

Examine the methods by which legal prostitution is conducted in Nevada. Then draw the line over to porn star, they connect well. You'll see that what doesn't fit is the typical illegal street corner hooker, who spreads disease and is often directly or indirectly involed in other crimes.

The real question is, what is the difference between a woman that requires you to take her to dinner and movie before you have sex and a prostitute?

If dinner and a movie are rquired before getting busy I'm guessing you're doing something wrong.

There are certain "escort" services that sort of work around the laws. They claim that you are paying to take them out and paying for companionship for the night like to a work party or something (which is legal). Then the girl is so attracted to you that she can't help getting it on with you. Notice with these types of services you never say you are paying for sex or anything like that. She can tell you to "get comfortable" and you happen to have a couple Benjamins sitting on the dresser.
