What is the difference between 64 and 128MB mobile Radeon 9700?

Performance wise, are they about the same? Also, how do each compare to the mobile 9600pro?

I was looking at the acer 2010 series but to get the notebook with a 128mb radeon 9700 you have to get a 2.0 dothan processor and a dvd-rw which makes the price go waaay up.

Despite the "9700" moniker, the Mobility 9700 is basically a Mobility 9600XT. Looks to be about 20-30% faster than the Mobility 9600. No clue about 64/128MB versions; I doubt you'd see much difference.

How can THG test graphics card performance across notebooks if they use one notebook which has a 1.7ghz pentium-M, another which has a mobile athlon 64 3000, and a pentium 4 notebook 2.4 ghz(which had the 9700 pro)?

That article offered no indication of performance.
