What is the default resolution of Vista?

When you install Windows XP, it comes with a default resolution of 800 x 600 (unlike all the Windows in the past, I believe, which were at 640 x 480). So for Vista, what resolution does it come defaulted at? It's just a curiosity of mine. 🙂

If I remember I think it came up at 1024x768, I could be wrong though. But I remember it was a little less than my default.

The default resolution is actually the max your monitor can support, but if for whatever reason your card isn't recognized well or drivers aren't installed well you\ll default at 800x600.

When swapping cards today, it defaulted at 800x600 after installing the drivers, but when I installed Vista for the first time it immediately set itself to 1280x1024.

I don't believe Vista has a default resolution - that is a function of your monitor.

Simple things like this are the best kinds of upgrades.
