Nissan 350z is a balls out sports car: loud, obnoxous. power engine, but one heavy buggar.

The S2000 is a nimble sports car, wiht a high revving 4cyl engine. More of a weekend car. Very minimalistic, and focuses on total control of the car by the driver.

The MR2 I'm not really sure about, and I don't think that it's trying to fill any niche because it's not selling at all. Toyota really missed the ball with this car.

IIRC, when they first came out, the s2000 and mr2 were supposed to me somewhat competitive with each other, as far as overall consumer appeal... but the s2000 clearly spanks the mr2, which is basically only worth buying if you value the Toyota brand name and the looks of the car, more than the actual performance/drivability.

I think the MR2 is even more minimalistic than the S2000... it even has minimal power. :D

But both cars do focus on driving experience much more.

...and yeah... I think the 350Z is pretty porky. :p

Well... the MR2 costs a bit less than the S2000... i think they should put the GT-S engine in there instead... :)

350z - the imported domestic, lots of power, lots of reliability issues (check 350z forums)
s2k - well balanced race car, not a very good daily driver, but convertable w00t
mr2 spyder - budget sport car, not even a consideration
