What is the deal with 4 chan?

I was on a message board and someone posted a screen grab of it and I commented how horrible the layout looked and the person got all pissy. I asked if they were a cheerleader for it and they replied with "I'm a /b/tard" I suppose I'm just old but wth? And here is a the screen grab I was referencing.

Also, I think the whole point of the design is simplicity. Similar to Craigslist, I wouldn't call the site layouts bad, they're just designed to be basic and easily accessible to everyone.

Yeah, that's exactly it, it's not well organized, and you can't really trace who said something, or find them again if you want to speak to them personally. Keeps the Party Van away maybe? As for the initials... *shrug*
