What is the current price trend for laptop DDR2?

I currently have 3GB and might consider going to 6GB. Just wondering if the prices will drop more or if they're going to go up as DDR did.

I have 2GB and 1GB now. I would replace the 1GB with 4GB to get a total of 6GB. Replacing both doesn't make sense now since it's about $140 extra for to gain 2GB.

Do have a 64 bit OS? If not, then it wouldn't make a huge difference to add any more RAM to 3GB.

In my opinion 3GB is already quite sufficient unless your laptop is pretty highly spec'd and you do lots of Photoshop/Video Editing/Gaming/etc. I don't really think 6GB is necessary on a laptop unless you do something really intensive. Not really worth the money unless your laptop is already pretty high end.

It supports up to 8GB. I use VMWare on it. It doesn't run bad, but wonder if it'd be smoother with 6GB.
