I'm currently running a Duron 700Mhz which will goto 1050Mhz but is only stable at speeds under 1Ghz.

I'm considering the option of trading up for a faster CPU in the My Toy system below which will be upgraded substantially anyway.

What is the "best bang for the buck" for my KT7A motherboard?

To be honest the 700 @ 933/950/1000 is actually more than enough generally - but hey - you know that feeling that you just need more speed for the sake of it 😉

I'm really looking at "budget speed" rather than splashing out the cash.
Sure, I can afford to go out and buy an expensive CPU but thats not what overclocking is about - is it? 😀

I've been reading/hearing that the XP1500+ is a great value/overclocker; it's nice that it's got the 10x multiplier so that if you're lazy and have a mobo that fsb's like a mofo you can get some serious speed out of it😀!
 
Any idea of the likely OC speeds?

I have heard the Duron 1000Mhz could overclock pretty well with the new core? - I'm kinda out of touch as I don't have as much time to read up on the latest CPU's and motherboards right now.
