I'm looking for the 5 digit cpu number of a Pentium D/4 that is 3.6Ghz, 800FSB, and has a socket 478 package, if you have one to sell let me know, if you have one running in your pc, please pull of the heatsink, and get the 5 digit cpu number for me.

Thanks A Lot

The reason I'm asking is because of this:

Acer TravelMate 2700 Series Notebook Computer Parts
Original Specifications:
CPU: Intel® Pentium® 4 processors 2.8/3.0/3.2/3.4/3.6 GHz or or Intel® Celeron® processors 2.6 GHz and above

Now I know that www.cpu-world.com doesn't list a p4 3.6, nor does a few places, but I do know that I have in the laptop, I am currently typing on, a P4 3.46ghz 533fsb (SL7NC) cpu, that I couldn't find for a while either, hence my question. I am hoping that someone out there has one, and is willing to share the information.

THANKS FOR ANY/ALL THE HELP!!

Acer might say that the laptop supports 3.6GHz, but processors often find themselves kicked off roadmaps. i.e. Pentium 4 HT 4.0GHz... never saw light of day but it was on roadmaps.

There are NO socket 478 pentium D's. And the fastest desktop chip them made for socket 478 was 3.4ghz. They never released a 3.6ghz model. What you have is a mobile P4, rather than a desktop version. And it's a prescott core. I don't even want to imagine how short your battery life is and how hot that thing gets. None the less, you have the fastest socket 478 mobile P4 released already, there isn't a faster one.

I have a Dell XPS that uses a 3.4GHz Northwood CPU and it's definitely socket 478 as I've taken it apart before. Battery life is horrible (256MB Radeon 9800MP VGA) but it works and is fast but awfully heavy. I would not want a prescott part for sure. That's what the OP wants - a 3.4GHz northwood. If it has 512KB L2, it's a NW. :)
