link for AMD? They have the most user unfriendly website to navigate:|. I am trying to identify this Athlon OEM Slot1 CPU by the numbers on top of the chip housing so I can be sure I am not putting a thunderbird on a mobo that does not support a thunderbird.

Does anyone know the link to decifer thier code?

Just in case,The code on the chip is K7700MTR51B A

Thanks.

(And if you work for AMD, FIX YOUR WEBSITE !!!

A slot A Athlon, TBird or not, will fit on any slot A motherboard. At the very worst, you might have to do a BIOS update.

I know the chip will fit into a slot A slot without a hitch, but news flash. There is a difference between Tbird athlon and classic athlon, and they do not operate the same, nor are they compatible just by upgrading a bios. They have different core voltages and need different motherboard chips from one another.

This is going into an Abit KA7 mobo,so it wants the classic.

Good work gentlemen. I thank you.:)
